Daikin VRV System Installation
A long standing client came to us with a new project, to install a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) air conditioning system. We recommended the excellent Daikin solution.
The Challenge
It’s really only commercial operations that have very large spaces to cool and heat. And this project was for a very large space — 2 buildings, each with 4 floors of open-plan, and modular offices. Into this we’d need to supply a level of environmental control, and that’s a lot of space and a lot of people to keep comfortable.
Heating in winter, and cooling in summer for such a large space could be prohibitively expensive, as you can imagine.
The Solution
VRV systems allow climate control within specially selected zones. This is where the ‘variable’ of ‘variable refrigerant volume’ comes in. Essentially we’re able to cool, or heat, specific areas when needed — this can be cyclical in nature. We can keep everyone comfortable without the huge cost of climate control everywhere, all at once.
We installed 12 separate Daikin VRV systems to provide comfortable climate control and allow landlords to split each area into independent zones for their tenants. Individual services were installed in open-plan ceilings which is nice and neat, and provides an industrial feel.
